The Balance Course is designed to help you improve your balance and agility with a series of easy to navigate walking exercises.
These walking challenges help increase your balance, coordination, agility and hip and foot strength.
The Balance Course has been created for all ages and abilities.
You are never too old to improve your balance.
Balance training involves doing exercises that strengthen the muscles that help keep you upright, including your legs and core. These kinds of exercises can improve stability and help prevent falls, injuries and help you regain and keep your mobility and independence.
All of the challenges on a Best Program Balance Course have been designed by a specialist in Functional Ageing, Balance Training, Tai Chi and Brain Health Training. The course has been trialled across a wide range of ages and abilities and has shown to be highly effective in improving balance in a short period of time. Start with the easiest walking challenge and progress through the course at your pace.
All you need is non slip shoes and a positive attitude.
Try to complete the Balance Course a couple of times on each visit.
The Balance Course has simple to follow instructions, both written and visual.
A short video shows just how easy it is to successfully complete the Balance Course in just five minutes.
A couple of completions of the course a few times a week can make a huge difference to your walking confidence and agility.
Simply follow the directions on the course
L means left foot,
R means right foot.
Arrows direct you forward.
Breath slowly and deeply.
Relax and try to look ahead once
you feel confident.
When you are encouraged to cross over the line, ensure you feel stable and use your walking stick if needed. Avoid using the Balance Course if it is wet.
Wear comfortable flat shoes.
If it is sunny, wear a hat.
Drink water before and after balance training to stay hydrated.
Balance train as often as you can, make it a habit and see how fast
your walking and balance confidence improves.
